Bangkok - Dusit International celebrates the success of its two
distinguished hotels, dusitD2 chiang mai and Dusit Thani Bangkok, as
they have been listed in the Asia’s Top 40 City Hotels by Travel +
Leisure Magazine, one of the world’s leading publications for elite
travellers.
The award is bestowed to the most outstanding Asia’s Top 40 City
Hotel. This marks the first time that the award has been repeated by
the name of Dusit. Among the top hotels in Asia, dusitD2 chiang mai
ranked number 18 on the scale following by number 34 for Dusit Thani
Bangkok.
“This represents direct feedback from guests and confirms that the
product and service provided is appreciated and recognised by the
travellers visiting our hotels. The only way to achieve this is by
doing the right thing everyday. We are delighted and full appraise for
both these world-class hotels and their outstanding teams,” said Mr.
Octavio Gamarra, Senior Vice President, Dusit International.
“Dusit is the only Thai-owned hospitality company listed in Asia’s
Top 40 City Hotel. This recognition is for our wonderful Thai heritage
and marks our exciting evolution as we expand regionally and globally,”
added Mr. Gamarra
Added to this recognition, Lifestyle + Travel Magazine also awarded
Devarana Spa the Best Urban Spa, Reader’s Choice Awards in 2008 which
is an excellent combination between the hotel and spa brand. This year,
Devarana Spa has made its first debut in Europe with the launch of the
Devarana Spa at the new ultra-luxury hotel IL SALVIATINO–Florence,
opening in late 2009.
Ms. Nancy Novogrod, editor-in-chief of Travel + Leisure (U.S.), said
“This year’s results reflect our readers’ travel interests in this
challenging economic reality—value, intimacy, service and discovery are
key priorities .... For a number of top-ranked cities—Udaipur, Cape Town, Bangkok, Buenos Aires, Chiang Mai, and Luang Prabang—value ratings were sky-high.”
Ratings from readers of all Travel + Leisure’s international
editions—Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, Travel + Leisure
Australia/New Zealand, Travel + Leisure Turkey, Travel + Leisure China,
Travel + Leisure South Asia and Travel + Leisure Mexico—were counted in
the results.
Mr. Matt Leppard, editor-in-chief of Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia,
said “This year has been another strong year for Southeast Asia,
reflecting the fact that Travel + Leisure readers worldwide still see
the region as a highly desirable destination. While long-haul inbound
markets may be wavering right now, the global interest in all that
Southeast Asia offers—from city boutique hotels to jungle retreats to
world-class resorts—remains strong. Some 20% of the world’s top hotels
in the survey are in our edition’s “catchment area,” while having three
cities in the overall top 10 is something that the region can be very
proud of,” he added.
